Banana Pro Notes:
- default clock is 912MHz, rated to 1GHz – easy to over clock
- dual core
- twice the memory
- 40 pin GPIO (like the Raspberry Pi Model A+ and B+)
- approx 500Mbps reported as max throughput for Ethernet, my tests ran between 500-700Mbps
- robbedoes posted some Ethernet tuning tips, however I have not tried them yet
- SATA interface is a huge advantage
- Camera connector NOT Raspberry Pi compatible, but same as Banana Pi
- Display connector NOT Raspberry Pi compatible, but same as Banana Pi
- alternate pin functions allow up to four serial ports and a CAN bus
Raspberry Pi Notes:
- CSI camera interface for the Raspberry Pi is more advanced
The Banana Pro’s SATA connector, RTC, double the memory and two cores appeal to power users.

It is worth noting that the Raspberry Pi does not support Android as the Raspberry Pi Foundation does not think Android is important to the educational market – a stance I fully understand and agree with.
The other reason why Android is not available for the Raspberry Pi is that the single core 700MHz processor with 512MB of memory would not be able to run modern versions of Android at a speed people are used to.
