Raspberry Pi 4.3″ EastRising HDMI TFT LCD Review and Experiments
EastRising 4.3″ TFT LCD Viewing Angles
Off-center viewing angles are often a problem for LCD panels.
Here is a shot taken with a roughly 40′ down anlge:

Looks pretty good to me.
Looking to the left:

Again, good result.
Look to the right:

Again good result.
FYI: The fuzzy text is due to depth of field of the image (ie the difference in focal length to the titled display).
Just for yucks, I then tried the calculator applet:

Looks good, but not really usable due to not having a scrolling virtual desktop.
As you saw, the lack of a scrolling virtual desktop causes usability issues with large windows.
I enabled multiple desktops, and I could easily switch between them with ALT-arrow, but windows did not span the virtual desktops, and I could find no setting to get them to span multiple desktops.
Since the hdmi adapter and the Pi both worked well at 480×272, I decided to try a 960×544 custom HDMI mode – after all, the 1080p scaling did better than I expected, so I wondered if less scaling would present a better result?
