A Closer Look at Pi Zero

I thought I’d do something a bit different this time, and show you the Raspberry Pi 0 while stacked on a Raspberry Pi Model A+

You can see the Raspberry Pi Model A+’s gpio pins poking through the holes (for a gpio connector) on the Raspberry Pi Zero.

I used to think that the Model A+ was small…

The test points on the left on the Zero are apparently for JTAG, but what I want to know is what the footprint for J5 is on the right hand side?

I like the micro SD socket used on the Raspberry Pi Zero.

I no longer need to worry about the tiny memory going flying from the push-push spring tension!

Not populating the gpio connector allows far more flexibility in how you mount add-ons – anywhere from soldering wires to using stacking connectors (or just a female connector).

Ok, this side of the Pi Zero is boring.

I keep looking at how small the board is… and think of all the projects I can potentially embed one in.

I mean a Pi Zero is barely larger than a DIP-40 integrated circuit!
